John V. Luneborg, better known as “Vic,” began his professional career in the insurance industry, where he established himself as a successful businessman and eventually became the owner of L.P. Agency, Inc. Beyond his career in insurance, Vic also owned and operated Clear Creek Farms, where his passion for agriculture and livestock would later take root.

Today, Vic is the proud owner of Certified Wagyu-Kobe Beef, LLC, a company dedicated to advancing the quality and recognition of Wagyu and Kobe beef in the United States. His journey into the Wagyu cattle industry began in the late 1980s (circa 1987), when he and his wife, Paulette, purchased and managed 200 acres of farmland in southwestern Ohio. Together, they spent more than 20 years raising Wagyu cattle, carefully perfecting the genetics of the breed, and contributing to the growth of the Wagyu industry in America.

During this period, Vic was deeply involved in industry organizations. He was an active member of the National Cattlemen’s Association and the Ohio Cattlemen’s Association, and he also served on the Board of Directors of the American Wagyu Association, where he played a key role in the early development of the organization. His service included time as secretary and treasurer, helping guide the association during its formative years.

In addition to his leadership roles, Vic made lasting contributions to the Wagyu industry by developing and registering several trademarks associated with Wagyu cattle and beef. These efforts helped establish standards and branding that continue to support the integrity and recognition of Wagyu beef in the marketplace.

Vic’s dedication to his work has always been matched by his devotion to his family. He and Paulette have been happily married for more than 60 years and together raised four children. The couple now resides in Maineville, Ohio, where Vic continues his advocacy and leadership in the Wagyu beef industry through his company, Certified Wagyu-Kobe Beef, LLC.

Through decades of hard work, innovation, and commitment, Vic Luneborg has left a lasting impact on both the insurance and cattle industries. Today, he remains a respected voice in the field, continuing to advance the Wagyu beef legacy in America.
